Supplementary Elections Will Sill Hold in Rivers State - INEC #WikeVsAwara

With the just collated governorship results in Rivers state, Wike’s cheer person’s has already sent in their congratulatory messages but INEC has a surprise for them.


The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has given an update with regards to the just concluded collated results for the Governorship election in the state.
The result which has Wike leading with 886,264 votes over his strongest opponent, Awara of the ACC party (173,809 votes)… still have more to come as INEC in a statement by Festus Okoye, National Commissioner of Information on Thursday, disclosed that the supplementary election in four LGAS scheduled on April 12th will still hold.
The statement read in part: “The Commission met today April 4, 2019 and reviewed the conduct of the just-concluded Rivers State collation exercise.
“The commission expresses satisfaction with the outcome and commends security agencies for their professionalism which ensured peaceful conduct and conclusion of the exercise.
“However, supplementary election will be held in affected areas on April 13, 2019 in line with the timetable released by the Commission.”
