Man Loses Goods Worth Millions To Fire Outbreak

Some days come with its heartache and life changing happening that would want to take your breath away. Today happens to be one of those days for Mr Alhaji Adewale.



Mr Alhaji Adewale, a business man who sells automobile spare parts in Ondo, the headquarters of Ondo West Local government must be going through a tough moment right now as he has lost his goods to a fire outbreak that happened in the wee hours today.
His goods and property worth millions of naira were engulfed by the raging fire.
It was gathered that the incident occurred in Oka area of the town where automobile spare parts shops are situated.
Reports gathered from an eyewitness, stated that the fire was prompted by high voltage when electricity was restored to the area by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company and all effort to quench the fire proved abortive.
Also, calls were made to the Ondo State Fire Service and no one showed up the eyewitness stated.
The owner of the affected shop, Alhaji Adewale has appealed to the state government to come to his aid, as he has lost all he had worked for in the fire.
He recounted how the ordeal happened;
 “I left the shop at about 7:30pm yesterday (Wednesday) and was called upon by sympathizers, informing me that my shop was on fire, caused by the high voltage of electricity brought by the BEDC, which resulted to explosion that affected the shops.
“Immediately, I called the fire service to our rescue but they did not respond, they said their vehicle was bad.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ondo State Command Mr. Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident, saying the command had commenced investigation into the incident, adding that no life was lost in the incident
“The fire started at about 10pm yesterday and burnt till this morning but we can’t quantify the level of the damage now but there was no life lost in the fire outbreak,” the PPRO stated.
