On Wednesday, the 3rd of April 2019, five internet frauderss were apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Uyo zonal office.
The Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Wednesday arrested five internet fraudster
commonly known as “Yahoo Boys” in Uyo the Capital Of Akwa-Ibom state.
The young men, who rented a
three bedroom apartment, used one of the rooms for their cyber-crime
activities.
The names of the
apprehended suspects were given as;
Uchendu Denis, Osinachi Sam
David, Chikezie Bright, Francis Martins and Okafor Emmanuel.
They were arrested at Nsini
Odeyop Street, Shelter Afrik Estate, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, following
intelligence report on their suspicious activities.
The items discovered
from them included, one hundred and twenty three sim cards which included a
Turkish sim, thirteen expensive mobile phones, six laptops, diaries containing
several phone numbers and over three hundred email addresses.
Speaking on the
matter, EFCC in a statement said they will be charged to court as soon as
investigations were concluded.
