Abdullahi Bala, a man aged 33 who raped a nine year old girl is been set free without any charge as the father of the girl forgives him stating that he would leave vengeance for God.

As the matter was arraigned in Edo State Family Court, the girl disclosed that she was raped by the Bala. Also the Police prosecutor on the case, Inspector Petr Ogbe, informed the court that the rapist, Bala Abdullahi, had unlawful carnal knowledge with the victim on February 8th and 9th 2019 at Aduwawa Qquarters in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.

The offence is punishable under Section 218 of the Criminal Code Cap 48 Vol II Laws of the defunct Bendel State now applicable in Edo State, the prosecuting inspector stated.

Abdullahi pleaded guilty to the charge.

However, the father of the young girl, Ibrahim Mohammed, opted to leave vengeance to God.. and decided to not press charges against the assaulter.

The presiding magistrate,D.I Adamaigbo, warned Abdullahi to desist from the act as he was lucky that the victim decided not to press charges.
