The two sisters (name with-held), told the court of how their father would sneak into their room to sexually molest them in their home at Oke-Ogbe, Atura area of Badagry, Lagos State.

One of the sister, now 23 said she was 12-year-old at the time it started to happen. 

“My father would sneak into the room with sharp objects such as knife or screwdriver and would threaten me not to say a word later.”

She said their mother who was a business woman was not at home because of her busy schedule and the father who was a driver always had the time to carry such abomination on her.

She recounted how she took a bold step by telling someone;

“When I got to the age of 18, there was a night he came to me but I ran to my mum’s pastor, Mrs. Ochiegbu and reported the incident to her.”

“I hid in her church and my dad came and was saying that I should start coming home but unknown to him, I had explained everything to them at the church, I waited until my mother returned and I went home with her. The next day, the pastor called my mother and told her everything I told her, she was upset and did not know what to do.”

She said the father didn’t stop but persisted and continued to pressure her for sex and had no other choice but to run away from home for a year.

Meanwhile, the father was also defiling her tender sister of 13-years old…. The press and other persons present had to leave the court room while she was testifying because she was a minor.

Following the sisters’ testimony, the judge handling the case, Justice Soladoye adjourned the case till May 23 for continuation of trial.
