The commencement of results collation for Rivers state election starts on Tuesday and the State Police are taking several steps to ensure it's a peaceful process.

The Commission responsible for handling electoral process in the country, had announced on March 21, that the collation and announcement of results in Rivers state would commence between April 2 and April 5.
Meanwhile, the Police Command's Spokesman, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, issued a statement on Monday, 1st of April stating that personnel's are been deployed to areas result collation are carried out. Reason been to ensure that the process is transparent and seamlessly carried out.
He went on to point out that Waterline and GRA junction axis of Port Harcourt/Aba Express Road, would be closed and no cars would pass the area during the process.

“The police note with concern the temporary hardship the closure
will cause. We appeal to the public to show understanding and bear with us."

overall interest of the public, as well as to provide a conducive atmosphere
for the collation."
The police spokesperson warned that any individual or group seen
undermining the process would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the
Electoral Act.
