Andrew Uchendu, the All Progressives Congress member representing Rivers East Senatorial District, has placed an allegation on state Governor, Nyesom Wike, of sending armed forces to the venues when elections were conducted in the state.

Acccording to Mr Unchendu, the Nigerian Army was innocent and falsely accused contrary to Wike's claims.

Mr Andrew Uchendu stated this in Abuja on Thursday during an interview with journalists on the crisis over the yet to be concluded governorship and state house of assembly elections in the state.

Wike’s armed thugs in military uniforms made the operations of killings and violent acts during the just concluded elections, Uchendu alleged.

He said, on the day of the just concluded governorship election in the state, Governor Wike stormed Obio-Akpor Local Government Collation Centre with over 200 armed thugs.

Uchendu alleged that the gunmen under the authority of governor Wike shot an Army captain, by name Salami, to death and injured many others, all in the process of falsifying already collated results from the ward levels.

He alleged further that Wike worked with the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Obo Effanga, to manipulate the election results in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Meanwhile, INEC is said to resume collation of result in the state.
