Reno Omokri, Nigerian author and former aide to ex President Goodluck Jonathan, has taken to the twitter platform to compare the teachings of pastors in today's society to that of Jesus Christ in the Bible.
Former aide to ex-president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan popularly known for dishing out contents with regards to how churches operates of recent times and general conversations, took to the twitter platform to criticize how pastors especially Nigerian pastors live extravagant lives while the congregations suffer.
Should pastors live opulently while congregants live in excruciating poverty? Shepherds exists to care for sheep, not to be cared for by the sheep. Jesus gave ONLY one instruction to Peter, His successor: “feed My sheep”. Let’s feed them physically and spiritually #RenosNuggets

He went on to talk about the lies often told in church about God doing the work for man rather than blessing man's work.
He wrote:
"The most beautiful LIE in the world is the lie that God will do it for you. God never said that. The painful TRUTH is the fact that God won’t do your work for you. He will, however, bless your work for you. God does what you CAN’T do for yourself, not what you WONT."
He tweeted further:
I go to churches and sadly, I see many people being entertained while they think they are being enlightened. It breaks my heart to say it, but it seems the lives that are being transformed are the preachers’. Jesus fed the poor, but today’s poor feed their preachers #RenosNuggets
