It appears to be that there is an ongoing act of racism in Nigeria. A Chinese restaurant Shi Shi situated in Lagos has been brought to light with the reputation of being racist.
Reports gathered by a Punch Correspondent who paid a visit to the restaurant revealed that the Shi Shi Chinese restaurant do not serve Nigerians.
This comes as a surprise to me because this restaurant according to report is owned by a Chinese and given the circumstances, the business is operating in Nigeria. How then, do you not want to sell and serve the individuals of that country.... Such Audacity!
The Punch reporter who visited the restaurant was met at the gate by a guard in Army combat camouflage.
An interrogation of this sort was carried out:
“Who are you looking for?” the guard, a Nigerian, asked.
When the reporter responded that he wanted to order Chinese cuisine, he was refused entry. The restaurant according to report, operates from 11am to 10pm daily.
A restaurant official, who spoke with the reporter who had asked to speak with the manager said; “The manager is not around.
“Since you’ve dropped your card, I can assure you that he will call you to respond to your questions.”
A Twitter user revealed the restaurant only serves Chinese folks, further findings however revealed that Nigerians and other Blacks are allowed in if they are accompanied by a Chinese.
The restaurant is located on 21B, Emina Crescent, Off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos.
